Kittim

Kittim
A son of Javan (Gen. 10:4), whose supposed descendants settled in Cyprus and became sea traders (Num. 24:24). In the Dead Sea scrolls the Chaldeans (Kittim) are named as the last of the oppressing gentile [[➝ Gentiles]] powers against whom the faithful ‘Sons of Light’ wage war. The Kittim of the scrolls are probably to be identified as the Romans.
